With an insolvency and reconstruction career spanning more than 25 years, Ian Purchas has an impressive track record and a deep understanding of the complexities of business insolvency and reconstruction.  Ian takes a personal interest in every matter his team works on and is involved in all aspects of an appointment, ensuring every detail is considered and nothing is overlooked.  His understanding, professionalism and willingness to go "the extra mile" for his clients during difficult times have earned him an enviable reputation amongst his peers.

Prior to joining RMG Partners in July 2008, Ian was a Principal in a large specialist insolvency firm for eight years.  Ian has held senior roles in major insolvency administrations including Burns Philp Trustee Co, Girvan, Equity Corp, Noman Ross Discounts and Globite.  Ian is able to deliver specialist expertise across a broad range of industries.  This breadth of knowledge ensures the right solution is found for every matter.  Ian's impressive rate of conversions to Deeds of Company Arrangement is evidence of his expertise and unwavering commitment to his clients.  In considering various alternatives to assist businesses in financial difficulty Ian will always first explore options which will allow for the continuation of the business for the benefit of employees, creditors, customers and directors/shareholders.

Ian is often called upon by the media (press,television and radio) to comment on topical insolvency matters, is a regular contributor to 2GB 'Money News' radio program with finance expert Ross Greenwood (listen to interviews) and Peter Switzer's 'Grow Your Business' televising program and website growyourbusiness.com.au.

Ian attended Canberra University and holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Law.  He is a Registered and Official Liquidator of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and Federal Court of Australia and maintains membership with the:
